Bellows Replacement
Check the bellows periodically for cracks, wear, or damage. Replace the upper and lower bel-
lows if necessary, using the procedures below. Part numbers: 05555-000 (upper) and 05556-000
(lower).
Procedure for Lower Bellows Replacement
1. Remove the lower clamp ring from the bearing ring by loosening the screw on the
clamp. See the following figure for details.
2. Remove the tool flange. Refer to Removing and Reinstalling the Tool Flange on page 93
for the tool flange removal procedure.
3. Remove the upper clamp ring by loosening the screw on the clamp.
4. Slide the old bellows down off of the quill.
5. Install a new bellows, and reverse the steps listed above. Take care to correctly seat the
tool flange firmly up against its hardstop and rotate the flange so that the setscrew lies
in the middle of the machined flat of the quill.
