Chapter 8 Troubleshooting
The countermeasure against troubles are described in this chapter.
If the light source is visibly damaged, does not function as expected, or is found to have irregularities
during the inspection described in Chapter 4, “Inspection” and Chapter 3, “Installation and
Connection”, or use described in Chapter 5, “Operation”, do not use the light source and contact
Olympus. Some problems that appear to be malfunctions may be correctable by referring to
Section 8.2, “Troubleshooting guide”. If the problem cannot be resolved by the described remedial
action, stop using the light source and contact Olympus.
WARNING
Never use the light source if an irregularity is observed. Damage or irregularity of
the light source may result equipment damage, an electric shock, and/or burns.
NOTE
If an accessory of the light source (e.g., examination lamp, foot holder, power cord,
light source cable) needs to be replaced, contact Olympus to purchase a
replacement.
The following table shows the possible causes of and countermeasures against troubles that may
occur due to errors of settings or deterioration of consumables.
When troubles or failures other than those listed in the following table are observed, turn OFF the light
source once and turn it ON again. If the problem still cannot be resolved, return the light source for
repair as described in Section 8.3, “Returning the light source for repair”.
