6.2 Operation of IR imaging mode

MAJ-2308 INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Ch.6

CAUTION

• Do not approach a cord connected to the high-frequency electrosurgical equipment

to this instrument and the ancillary equipment combined with it. Otherwise,
malfunction may be caused during the high-frequency output.

This section describes how to switch the imaging mode to the IR imaging mode. For other operation
procedures, follow the instructions given in the instruction manual for the surgical microscope or LED
light source.

WARNING

The information obtained through IR imaging is merely reference information. Be
sure to perform a comprehensive observation of all required regions by also using
the WLI observation.

CAUTION

• If the image seems to be dark during imaging, take the following measures by

referring to Chapter 4, “Function Setup”.



Adjustment of IR image brightness



Increase of IR AGC MAX gain setting



Increase of IR exposure time

If the image is still dark, use the WLI. It would be impossible to observe accurate IR
images.

• If any irregularity is felt during IR imaging, immediately return to the WLI mode.

Otherwise, the accurate observation may be impossible.

• Always set the power switch of the LED light source to “

(ON)” before turning the

surgical microscope ON. If the LED light source is turned ON after the surgical
microscope, malfunction will result.

• Set the filter selector knob to “WLI” before turning the surgical microscope ON. If it

is turned ON while the knob is set to other position, malfunction will result.

• Do not apply strong extraneous light, including that from a shadowless lamp, to the

observed region. Otherwise, accurate observation may become impossible.
