tension. Measure the height of each gate at each restraining strap
location. Mark each strap with a + or – measurement relative to the
desired height. Lower gate and adjust straps as necessary.

Locate washers, nuts, and restraining strap bolts. Apply anti-seize to
restraining strap bolts and embedded restraining strap anchors.
Install nuts, bolts, and washers as called out in drawing 124
8.
Torque all restraining strap nuts to the values shown in the anchor
torque specifications section below.
8. Torque Specifications
MAIN ANCHOR TORQUE VALUES ARE ESTIMATED, TEMPERATURE AFFECTS ON THE
RUBBER MAY REQUIRE HIGHER TORQUE VALUES TO SEAT THE CASTING. CHECK WITH
YOUR OHI REPRESENTATIVE IF INCREASED TORQUE IS NEEDED FOR AUTHORIZATION.

9. Index
The spillway gate assembly comprises the components found on the spillway and
includes the air bladders, gate panels, anchor bolts, etc. The air bladders inflate to raise
the gate system and deflate to lower the gate system.
GATE PANEL
The Gate Panel acts as a movable, rigid barrier to the water. The Gate Panels attach
along the upstream edge to the Hinge Flap portion of the Air Bladder. Two adjacent
Gate Panels are interspersed using the Inter-Panel Seal.
MAIN ANCHOR ASSEMBLY
The gate and bladder system are anchored to the rectangular channel’s concrete floor
