Use a Safety Chain
WARNING
A safety chain helps control the Kwik-Pit should it
accidentally separate from the towing vehicle while
transporting.
A runaway machine can cause serious injury or death to you
or others. Using appropriate adapter parts, attach chain to
tractor drawbar support. Provide only enough slack in the
chain to permit turning.

Connect safety chains to the Kwik-Pit Hitch Frame as
shown.

Safety chains must crisscross under the coupler so if the
machine uncouples, the safety chains can hold the tongue
up above the road.

Loop around a frame member of the tow vehicle or to
S-Hook holes or slots provided in the hitch system, but
do not attach them to an interchangeable part of the hitch
assembly.
Attach hooks up from underneath the S-Hook holes or
slots. Do not just drop into hole or slot.

Provide enough slack in chains to permit tight turns, but
not be close to the road surface to drag.

Do not attach chain to tractor intermediate support. Chain
must only loop through intermediate support.

Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the
tractor/truck drawbar support or other specified anchor loca -
tion. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning.
See your Kwik-Pit dealer if a replacement chain is needed.
Your Kwik-Pit safety chain must have a strength rating equal
to or greater than the gross weight of the towed machine.
Do Not
use the safety chain by itself for towing.
