Configuring the Nortel Call Recording Card

Planning, Installation, and Administration Guide

Connecting the Nortel Call Recording Card to a modem

To provide remote access to the Command Line Interface (CLI) for support 
and remote maintenance, you can connect a modem to the serial port of the 
Nortel Call Recording Card. To set up a working interface, perform the 
following procedure:

Using a standard serial cable, establish communication with the Hayes-
compatible modem from a PC with the following settings: 9600 baud, 8 
data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, and no flow control.

From the command line, type the following:

AT <return>

At the OK prompt, enter the required settings from Table 8: “Modem 
settings,” on page 37.

Use the 9-pin connector on the card adapter (L-adapter) to connect the 
modem to the Nortel Call Recording Card.
