Check that the treated water piping
from the reclaim unit is at least 2”
until it reaches the wash. Smaller
lines will reduce the volume and
pressure of treated water. Also, if
the VFD is ramping up to a set
speed for each activation signal, the
VFD setting can be changed to
increase the flow and pressure.
Contact PurWater on how to reset
the VFD parameters.

The first 1-2 washes after the wash
has been shut down for several
hours may have an odor due to the
water setting stagnant in the lines,
especially in warmer weather. If the
water still has an odor after 1-2
washes, check that the odor control
system on the reclaim system is
operating. On sparger systems,
check that the sparger in the reclaim
tank is flowing and pulling in air. If
not, pull the sparger out of the tank
and clean. On biological systems,
check the sparger per above and
that enzyme is being fed from the
enzyme tank by monitoring the level
over a couple of days. On ozone
systems, check that the ozone unit is
on and that you can smell ozone
either in the reclaim compartment it
is being injected or from the ozone
line going into the Mazzei eductor.
(Caution: Ozone gas can cause
breathing difficulties. Do not breath
directly concentrated ozone. Ensure
there is adequate ventilation.)

Check the level of settled solids in
the reclaim tanks. There should be
less than 6” of sludge in the last
compartment where the suction lines
are located and no more than 12” in
the remainder of the tanks. If the
sludge level is high, have the tanks
pumped and cleaned. If the sludge
level is OK, check the underflow
orifice on the bottom of the cyclones
to ensure it is not plugged and the
underflow line is flowing water from
the cyclones.
