remedies to correct the problem.

sensor that improves patient skin
contact
• use a new O
XI

sensor with fresh adhesive backing
• keep the patient still, if possible
If poor perfusion affects performance, consider using the MAX-R

sensor; it obtains measurements from the nasal septal anterior
ethmoid artery, an artery supplied by the internal carotid. This

AX
sensor may obtain measurements when peripheral perfusion
is relatively poor.
