Installing a 3 1/2-Inch Internal Drive
Before removing the cover, turn off system
power and unplug the system power cable. Power is removed only when
the power cable is unplugged.
1.
Follow the instructions in steps 1 to 8 of “Removing a 3 1/2-Inch
Internal Drive” to remove the internal drive bracket and (if
applicable) an existing drive from the system.

With the drive connectors last, slide the new drive into the bracket.
3.
Secure the new device in the bracket with four screws. Depending on
the position of the drive, the screws may be located on opposite sides
of the bracket, or all on one side of the bracket (see the previous
figure).

With the drive connectors last, slide the bracket into the chassis. The
bracket should slide along the guides on the side of the accessible
device cage.

Support the bracket within the chassis while you replace the screws at
the front of the chassis.
