5.3

Settings for the safety PLC

As an example of the Safety PLC setting, how to add a setting of RMU for the Rockwell Compact GuardLogix

L43S is shown hereinafter.

CAUTION

The procedures shown in this section are described mainly to change the settings.

Therefore, safety is not considered.

After completing the settings, do not forget to check that the settings are correct.

5.3.1

Setting procedure

Run the "RSLogix5000".

Select the "Controller project" of the network to which the RMU is added.

- To create new one, select [New] in the [File] menu.
- If a communication module is not installed in the Bus of the "I/O Configuration", add a
communication module e.g. "1768 ENBT" etc.

Right click the [Tasks] -> [SafetyTask] of the "Controller Organizer", and then select the
[Properties].

>> The following screen will show up.

Select the "Configuration" tab and input the value of "Period".

- For "Period", set a value of 50ms or more.
- After the setting, press "OK".

Right-click a communication module in the "Controller Organizer" and select "New Module".

>>"Select Module Type" screen will be displayed.
