Operator Safety
WARNINGS
x HIGH VOLTAGE
is used in the operation of this equipment.
x DEATH ON CONTACT
may result if personnel fail to observe the
safety precautions labeled on the equipment and noted in this manual.
x
To prevent blindness or eye injury, wear safety goggles at all times during
welding .
x
Be careful of moving parts. You can be injured by moving parts during
welding.
x
Do
not
wear loose clothing or jewelry around moving parts. They could get
caught and cause injury.
Before You Start
Before operating the Control, you must be familiar with the following:
x
The principles of resistance welding and the use of programmed weld schedules.
x
The
location
and
function
of Controls and Indicators. For more information, see Chapter 1 of
this manual.
x
How to select and use the Control functions for your specific welding applications. For more
information, see
Chapter 3, Using Programming Functions.
Preparing for Operation
Verify that the electrical and water supplies meet the electrical and cooling (water) requirements, as
shown in
Appendix A, Technical Specifications . The electrical and water supplies must also meet all
applicable local, state, and federal safety standards.
