Mode Select Screen
This screen is used to set the various
operational modes of the Power Supply.
DELAY START SET
–
This entry is used to
set the time from the input of the Stage 2
signal until the start of the Squeeze Delay
(SQD). This allows for binary input
switch debounce.

START SIG. MODE –
This entry is used to set the start operation. The three modes, and how they operate,
are shown below:
MAINTAINED
If the Stage 2 signal is turned off between the Squeeze time and Hold time, the sequence
is immediately interrupted.
PULSED
If the Stage 2 input is held beyond the Delay Start Set (as described above), the sequence
will continue to the end of the Hold time.
LATCHED
If the Stage 2 signal is discontinued during the Squeeze time, the sequence is immediately
interrupted. But if it is held until after the welding time, the sequence continues to the
end of the Hold time.
PARITY CHECK
– When this entry is set to
ON
, an odd parity check is made for the binary Schedule
signals (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64). When the entry is set to
OFF
, no parity check is made.
CYC WELD
– This entry is used to set the unit of time for
TIME
,
UPSLOPE
, and
DOWNSLOPE
on the
Schedule screen. When the entry is set to
ON
, the time unit is expressed in cycles (
CYC
). When the
entry is set to
OFF
, the time unit is expressed in milliseconds (
ms
).
CYC WELD
– This entry is used to set the unit of time for
TIME
,
UPSLOPE
, and
DOWNSLOPE
on the
Schedule screen. When the entry is set to ON, the time unit is expressed in cycles (CYC). When the
entry is set to OFF, the time unit is expressed in milliseconds (ms).
STEPPER
– This entry is used to turn the Stepper function ON or OFF. The Stepper function increases
or decreases the welding current to compensate for wear of the electrodes. The type of stepper (either
linear or stepped (non-linear)) is indicated on this line. The stepper type is selected by a dipswitch. To
change it, see
Appendix G, Dipswitches.
FORGE
– This entry is used to turn the Forge function ON or OFF.
WELD COUNT
– This entry is used to turn the Weld Count function ON or OFF.
RE-WELD
– This entry is used to turn the Re-Weld function ON or OFF. With the Re-Weld function on,
if the welding current is below the value set at
CURRENT LOW
on the Monitor Set screen, the current
will automatically increase by 5% and repeat the weld.
