10.4.2 Functional Outline of the TML
The TML is designed in such a way that when the timer is activated (by writing to the enable bit in
software), the counter starts operating. The counter is a 32-bit up-counter. When a measure event
signal is asserted by means of external input, the content of each measure register (32-bit) is
latched into each old measure register (32-bit), while the counter value is latched into each
measure register (32-bit).
Counting is stopped immediately by writing to the enable bit in software to disable counting.
A TIN interrupt can be generated by input of an external measure signal. The TML does not have a
counter overflow interrupt.
