(2) Peripheral devices that cannot be connected
The following peripheral devices cannot be connected to the Ethernet port of the C
Controller module.
• GX Configurator-QP
• MT Developer
(3) Settings for communication with peripheral devices through an Ethernet
port
For communicating with a peripheral device through an Ethernet port, it is necessary
to set the built-in Ethernet port open settings in the <<System settings>> tab of the C
Controller setting utility.
For details, refer to the following.
C Controller Module User's Manual (Utility Operation, Programming)
(4) Number of available connections
Up to the number of connections shown in the following list can be used in functions
for communicating with peripheral devices through an Ethernet port.
(5) Precautions
(a) Checking by KeepAlive
When protocols are set in TCP, KeepAlive checks the status.
An existence check function is sent 22 seconds after the messaging reception of
the last existence check function from the external device to check for a response
from the external device.
If there is no response, the existence check function is continuously sent at one-
second interval.
If a response cannot be confirmed within 8 seconds, the connection is
disconnected due to the lack of existence of the external device. (The connection
will be disconnected 30 seconds after the messaging reception of the last
existence check function.)
The connection may also be disconnected if the target device is not compatible
with the TCP KeepAlive function (a response corresponding to the ACK function
for KeepAlive).
(b) Connecting the exceeded number of available connections
Do not over connect the number of available connections.
With TCP connection exceeding the number of available connections, the module
may be placed in the following status by the peripheral device.
• The module is placed in a waiting status and cannot be operated.
• The length of a timeout error increases.
