Interior lighting control
General notes
In order to prevent the vehicle's battery from
discharging, the interior lighting functions are
automatically deactivated after some time
except for when the key is in position 2 in the
ignition lock.
The brightness of the instrument cluster lighting
may be set using the controller on the instru-
ment cluster (
Y
page 131).
Automatic interior lighting control

To switch on: move switch B to the centre
position (
Y
page 77).
The interior lighting automatically switches on if
you:

unlock the vehicle
R
open a door
R
remove the key from the ignition lock

To switch off: press the | symbol on
switch B (
Y
page 77).
The interior lighting remains switched off even if
you:
R
unlock the vehicle
R
open a door
R
remove the key from the ignition lock
The interior lighting is switched on for a short
time when the key is removed from the ignition
lock. You can activate this delayed switch-off
using the on-board computer (
Y
page 139).
The front interior light switches on when you
open a front door. The rear interior lighting and
luggage compartment lighting switch on when
you open a rear side door or the rear door.

If a door remains open and the key is not in
the ignition lock, the interior lighting switches
off after approximately 30 minutes.

If the interior lighting has been switched on
manually, it will not be switched off automat-
ically.
This can cause the starter battery to dis-
charge.
