Operations
This chapter describes the procedures involved in preparing the Sediment Trap for a deployment.
Topics include:

Preparing and attaching the sample bottles.
•
Aligning the rotator to the open position.
•
Filling the sample bottles.
•
Programming deployment parameters.
Section 4.1
Deployment Preparation
Follow these preliminary steps to prepare the deployment.
1. Install batteries.
2. Close the controller housing with the orientation shown in Figure 4.1-1 (see
Chapter 6 in this User Manual for instructions).

3. Confirm the motor cable is attached.
4. Remove the dummy plug.
5. Connect the communications cable
6. Confirm the computer and the instrument are communicating (follow the steps in
Chapter 2, ‘Getting Started to establish communications if needed).
