Prior to submerging the sampler, disconnect the communications cable from the
controller housing and reconnect the dummy plug to the communications
connector on the controller housing.

The Sediment Trap enters a low power sleep mode until the time of the first
scheduled event. The Sediment Trap automatically wakes up and begins sampling
at the scheduled time of the first event.

For a bench test, leave the communications cable attached to the Sediment Trap
electronics to observe the operation of the instrument in the McLaneTerm window.

For a deployment, proceed to Chapter 5 and follow the Deployment Preparation
steps to disconnect the communications cable, seal the end cap, and attach the
dummy plug.
