Check to see if the gas is turned on. Wait 5 minutes for the
gas to dissipate, then try ligh ng it again. Check If it s ll
does not light, call Lynx at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.

Check grill to see if someone else is using the grill manually.
If not, shut down that burner and watch to see if it lights
unexpectedly again. If so, call Lynx at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.

Check area around grill for breeze or wind (see INDEX
"Grilling in Windy Condi ons"; con fi rm your gas is on, and
if you have a propane bo le, that it has enough gas in it.

Unplug and re ‐ plug your power cable. Wait 20 ‐ 60 seconds
to hear "SmartGrill is ready," then press the power bu on.
If the SmartGrill s ll does not func on, call Lynx at
888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.

The temperature around the PC or the circuit board in the
grill head is too hot. Turn the grill o ff and allow it to cool.
Try the grill again a er it has cooled o ff .
Audible: "Burner <N> knob is malfunc oning."

Indicates that a knob is missing or not connec ng to the
grill correctly. The grill will turn that burner o ff un l the
knob is fi xed. Replace any knob that has been removed or
fallen o ff . If the problem persists, call Lynx at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.
Audible: "Burner <N> gas valve is malfunc oning."

Indicates gas is not fl owing through the valve. Check to be
sure the gas is turned on, and there is enough gas in your
propane bo le. The grill will turn this burner o ff un l the
valve is fi xed. Call Lynx at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.

Shutdown the burner and call Lynx at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969.
If you do not have at least a 60% signal on your smart
device while standing at your grill, your grill will not per ‐
form op mally. Here are some sugges ons for
improving your network:
Posi on your wireless router, modem router, or access
point in a central loca on. The best place for a Wi ‐ Fi
router is in the center of your home.

The distance between your router and your
SmartGrill should not exceed 50 .

Verify that there are no obstacles between your
SmartGrill and the router.

Appliances, metal objects, cordless phones, stone
walls, fi replaces, etc. decrease Wi ‐ Fi strength.

Check the cable that connects the modem to the
router to make sure it is in good condi on. If not,
replace the cable.

Replace your router antenna with a Hi ‐ Gain wireless
antenna. They boost the signal strength and aim the
signal in one direc on.

Reduce wireless interferences by using devices that
communicate via the 5.0 GHz frequency instead of
the more common 2.4 GHz frequency (same
frequency as baby monitors, garage door openers,
cordless phones, microwave ovens).

Connect your SmartGrill to your router using a CAT
5E or be er cable and then try to setup a wired
network connec on.
Add a wireless repeater
A wireless repeater is a device that extends your wireless
network's range without requiring you to add any wiring.
Place the repeater halfway between your wireless router
and your SmartGrill to get an instant boost in your
wireless strength.
Add an extended antenna
Some mes when a SmartGrill is built ‐ in to an island, the
antenna cannot pickup a strong enough signal to run the
SmartGrill. If this is the issue, please call Lynx to request
an antenna extension at 888 ‐ 289 ‐ 5969 op on 5.
