Software Faults:
Problem Solution
During an Initial Height Sensing routine, the Ohmic
Light does not indicate a Yellow Detected status
when the torch contacts the material.
Check to make sure the Orange Ohmic Wire is con-
nected to the ohmic clip. Validate the clip is contact-
ing the shield.
Check that the material surface is free of rust or
corrosion that may inhibit an electrical contact with
the shield.

During an Initial Height Sensing routine, the torch
does not come down and sense the material, but
rather fires the torch in the air.
Remove the retaining cap from the torch body and
inspect/clean consumables for any debris, replace
once cleaned.
Verify under Job Setup the TOP OF MATERIAL has the
proper thickness of material entered in.
Error “IHS Failure: Check VFC Ground”
Check to make sure the Orange Ohmic Wire is con-
nected to the ohmic clip. Validate the clip is contact-
ing the shield.
Check that the material surface is free of rust or
corrosion that may inhibit an electrical contact with
the shield.

Error “IHS Failure: Clear slag from consumables” With
the torch not contacting the material surface.
Remove the retaining cap from the torch body and
inspect/clean consumables for any debris, replace
once cleaned.
Replace the consumables with new items, including
the retaining cap.
Check Orange Ohmic wire for Short to Ground.
Torch pierces the material, but no motion occurs.
Check g-code programmed feed rate, and feedrate
override percentage value for proper settings.
Check that the torch has enough material at the
pierce point that the plasma can establish a full
power cutting arc.
Check that the Aux Input Cable is plugged into the
back of the Accumove Controller.
