Class Of Service (COS)
Description
Stations and CO lines may be assigned a Class of Service (COS) to restrict outgoing call
service. Dialing restrictions are applied as the result of the interaction of COS assignments for
the station and CO line as shown in the chart below.

When the user places an outgoing CO line call, the System will compare the digits to the
appropriate Toll Tables as shown in the chart above. Each Toll Table consists of an Allow and
Deny Table pair; if the dialed number matches an Allow Table entry, the number is allowed. If
the number matches a Deny Table entry, the call is terminated and error tone sent to the user.
Consideration
If there are entries only in the Deny table, then the restriction is on a Deny Only basis.
If there are entries only in the Allow table, then the restriction is on an Allow Only basis.
If there are entries in both the Allow and Deny Tables, the Allow Table is searched, if the
dialed number matches an entry in the Allow Table, the call is allowed. If a match is not
