10.5  External Control Contacts 

The Basic and Expansion cabinets of the ipLDK-60 each have two (2) contacts (total 4) that can 
be used to activate a Loud Bell, open a door, or connect external paging equipment. 
 

10.5.1 

Loud Bell 

Description 

External Control Contacts can be connected to an external alerting device (Loud Bell) and 
configured to activate when an assigned station receives an incoming CO line call, transferred 
CO line call or intercom call.    This is commonly used to notify users of an incoming call and 
can be used as to activate a Night Bell.    With UNA enabled, any station can answer the call. 
 

Consideration 

  Multiple contacts can be assigned to the station but only the first contact will be activated 

when the station rings. 

  The Loud Bell Contact 1 can be programmed to operate as an External Night ring Contact 

as well as a LBC contact.    In the Night mode, the Loud Bell Contact will follow Night ring 
assignments (refer to Ref. B). 

  An external ringing device should be attached to the contacts.

Door Open 

Description 

External Control Contacts can be assigned to activate when a code is dialed.    The contact will 
remain activated for the Door Open time.    The contact can be used as a Door Open contact or 
for other functions requiring the operation of a contact.  Each contact has an associated 
activation code:
