Hunt Groups
Description
Calls sent to a Hunt Group are routed to stations in the group based on the type of group and
characteristics configured for the group. Five (5) types of groups can be defined:
Terminal Hunt Group
Calls to a station in the group or a pilot number route to the first available station starting
with the called station and proceeding to the last station listed for the group. If all
stations are busy, the call can be routed to an Alternate Destination or queue to the last
station in the group. The call remains in queue until answered, the caller disconnects or
the Overflow timer expires. If the timer expires, the call is routed to the Overflow
destination.
Circular Hunt Group
In Circular Hunt, calls to a station in the group or a pilot number route to the first available
station starting with the called station and proceed through the list of all stations in the
group. If all stations are busy, the call can be sent to an Alternate Destination or queue
at the last station in the circle. The call remains in queue until answered, the caller
disconnects or the Overflow timer expires. If the timer expires, the call is routed to the
Overflow destination.
ACD
Hunt
Group
Calls are sent to the group by dialing the pilot number (UCD Hunt Group number) or

group that has been idle for the longest time. If all stations are busy, the call may be
routed to the Alternate Destination or may continue to wait (queue) for an available station.
The call remains in queue until answered, the caller disconnects or the Overflow timer
expires. If the timer expires, the call is routed to the Overflow destination. An ACD
Supervisor can be assigned to mange and monitor the group and ACD reports provide
group and individual call handling characteristics.
Ring
Group
All the stations in the group receive ring simultaneously for a call to the Ring Group
number. The call continues to ring all members until answered, disconnected by the
caller or expiration of the Overflow time. The call is routed to the Overflow Destination
should the timer expire.
