In the dialog box, enter the number of the setting.
Cleaning print nozzles
When you clean the print nozzles, a test line prints so you can see if the
cleaning process was successful. Clean the print nozzles when you
suspect the nozzles are clogged or if the characters are not printing
completely.

Make sure plain paper is loaded in the printer.

Use the Control Program to run the nozzle test. For help
opening the Control Program, see the tip in the shaded margin.
Click OK.
Click the
Cartridges tab.
Select the
Clean Print
Nozzles button.
Quick Fix
If print is too dark or
smudged:
• Make sure the Paper Type
setting in the printer
software matches the
paper type loaded in the
printer.
• Make sure the paper is
straight and not wrinkled.
• Let the ink dry before
handling the paper.
• Clean the print cartridge
nozzles. For help, see
“Cleaning print nozzles.”
