IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
Wet air filter
If you work in a very dusty place, you must check the level of the oil in the reservoir and clean the separator prefilter
(op. 2) more frequently. Similarly, if the sediment and impurities that collect at the bottom of the reservoir become
excessive, both the element and complete filter must be cleaned more often (op. 3). Carefully wash the element with
diesel fuel, then allow it to drain and completely dry. Moisten the components with engine oil of the prescribed type
before fitting them back in place.
Engine oil filter
Use only original spare filter cartridges. Non-original filters can damage the engine and shorten its working life.
Regulating the injection pump
This is carried out for normal engine operation and the maximum adjuster screw is sealed during the test phase. All
warranty rights will immediately become void if the seal is tampered with.
Fuel filters
The filter cartridges must never be washed. They must be replaced only.
Transmission oil
It is advisable to change the transmission oil for the first time after the first 500 hours service. After this, change the
oil after every 1000 hours service.
Battery
Check the level of the electrolyte in the battery every 3 or 5 mounths depending on ambient temperature. This must
be done with the engine switched off, the battery cold and with the tractor parked on flat, level ground. Use only
distilled water to top up the battery.
Tyres
Check tyre pressure at regular intervals. Remember that the values given in the Technical Specifications chapter of
the Operation and Maintenance Manual are only indicative and must be adjusted to suit tyre compound (which varies
from one manufacturer to another), ballasting and operating conditions, etc. Your experience and advice from the
tyre manufacturer will allow you to choose the most suitable pressure values for the job in hand.
IMPORTANT
Routine maintenance must be performed with reference to the hours displayed on the tractor meter hour counter.
Before lubricating parts equipped with grease nipples, clean the surfaces of these latter and make sure that the
retention ball is free. After lubricating, remove all grease residues to prevent soil or dirt from being retained.
Whenever ambient temperatures drop below 0°C (32°F), and at least once a year before winter sets in, check
the concentration of antifreeze in the cooling circuit. Restore the required percentage by volume up to 50% if
protection is required down to -35°C (-31°F) (consult the instructions in the Operation and Maintenance
Manual).
