7-6. Usage examples
The telemeter enables wireless communication over a line of sight of up to 50 m, enabling measurement of the
torque of rotating shafts or other measurement where it would be difficult to wire the measurement device.
There is a constant delay of 11.1 ms (if using 1 CH) between transmitter strain input to analog output, which
enables essentially real-time measurement in conjunction with a data logger.
Scenario (a): Measuring in a vehicle
In vehicles used for testing purposes, the telemeter can be used with a variety of Kyowa sensors.
For instruments such as steering force/angle transducers and pedaling force transducers, installing recording
equipment nearby is often difficult, so a long sensor cable may be needed. Using the telemeter eliminates the
need for sensor cable wiring and simplifies setup.
Scenario (b): Measuring moving objects
When measuring a moving object relative to the receiver, such as when measuring products moving on a
production line, the receiving antenna can cover a broader area if it is connected to the extension cable and
placed in another location.
Scenario (c): Simultaneously measuring up to 16 units
Although the telemeter is used with a single transmitter and receiver (Measurement channel number : 4), which
is considered a single measurement channel, up to 64 channels can be measured at the same time by setting up
multiple transmitters and receivers. (In this case, a different Frequency CH and ID are set for each pair of
transmitters and receivers.)
Scenario (d): Simplifying sensor check operations
Without using a computer, receiver switches can be used to perform Balance adjustment, conduct start and stop
measurements, and execute other operations by pairing the settings for the transmitter and receiver in advance.
