About the interfaces

Power terminal

The power terminal has two independent inputs, +Voltage A and +Voltage B. These
have been included to support redundancy should either of the two fail. The DNX R-
2F/FC power supply is galvanically isolated from all other internal electronics.

RS-485 interface

Two connectors with three-position detachable screw terminals support the
connections for the 4 port 2 wire RS-485 system.

Optic Fibre interface

A pair of LC type connectors support the optic fibre interfaces.

Earth terminal

The earth terminal provides a surge path for transients on the Port A circuit.

Relay terminal

The relay may be used to trigger an external alarm under fault conditions. When
configured as outputs, the relay contacts are held open under power and during normal
operation. The relay output circuit can be used as a normally closed relay contact to
support a failsafe mode of operation.

During a power failure the relay contacts open to indicate a fault.

Note: A power failure condition with a simultaneous failure of PSU1 and PSU2, will only
be identified by the relay state and not reflected on the LED indication.
