5.2) DNX R-2F/FC Slaves ONLY
The slave modules MUST always have the commissioning switch in the
ON position during all modes of operation.
With the DNX R-2F/FC in SLAVE mode (as per DIP SWITCH 1 of set 6), the
commissioning mode switch is used to force the DNX R-2F/FC module to use
the local communication settings on the device as per DIP switch settings
instead of the global settings the master DNX R-2F/FC broadcasts during the
commissioning cycle.
6) Operational Mode
Once the DNX R-2F/FC network has been commissioned and is fault free
with the network out of commissioning mode, the network should be reset at
least three times to ensure that the installation is stable.
Note: Clock Synchronization
The Master DNX R-2F/FC will resynchronize all of the DNX R-2F/FC slave module
clocks with its own clock after each recovery cycle.
This is done to ensure timing is accurate for system diagnostics across the
network.
7) Replacement of failed module in circuit
In the event of an DNX R-2F/FC module failure, the module can be easily replaced
with a spare module that has been configured as per steps 1 to 6. The module will
be included into the network on power-up to normal communication of the network,
without the need to re-commission the network DNX R-2F/FC nodes (section 5).
The network will however need to be re-commissioned at the next convenient
moment, as the synchronized information provided through the commissioning
process will be required to diagnose the next potential exception.
