Multi-Protocol configuration

This feature is ONLY available once the feature is unlocked with a license procured
from a distributor. With the feature available, refer to SWITCH 1 of set 4 to enable or
disable the multi-protocol function. (Internal switch as per an Advanced User Guide)

The DNX R-2F/FC-L network supports a multi-protocol bus on optic fibre.

The protocol transmitted and received by a CIE is selected using DIP SWITCH 2 of set
4 as per an Advanced User Guide.

The DNX R-2F/FC-L supports two external protocols at various baud rates. The
performance of the network is however dependent on the length of the various links
and associated parameters. Where possible, additional DNX R-2F/FC nodes can be
used as repeaters to extend the link distances. Figure 16 illustrates a typical
arrangement supporting two protocols.
