2.2 Principle of Operation

Raw Water An external in-feed pressure pump P01 (3/2) conveys the raw water
from the source to the water treatment plant.
Pre-treatment Module The raw water is first conducted through a preliminary filter unit,
which consists of two filter bags F02 and F03 (3/5) arranged parallel to
each other. Only one filter is passed through at a time; thus the filter
bag of the second filter can be changed without having to stop the op-
eration.
The remaining capacity of the active preliminary filter is monitored by
the plant in order to be able to change over automatically to the redun-
dant filter if required.
