Fuel level in tank is below 2 qt (1.9 L).
Probable Cause Remedy
Faulty alternator output circuit (diesel
models). Make sure alternator output cable and battery positive (+) cable terminals are clean and
tight.
Faulty 12V battery ground circuit. Make sure 12V battery negative (–) cable terminals are clean and tight.
Faulty fan belt (diesel models). Check for loose or worn belt.
Faulty alternator (diesel models). Test alternator output.
Faulty regulator (gasoline models). Test regulator output.
Faulty stator (gasoline models). Test stator.
Low battery voltage. Charge battery, load test and replace if low voltage persists.
Extra loads Check for and remove after-market accessories (Lights, radio, etc.).
Probable Cause Remedy
Extended use of whisper mode (hybrid
models). Place machine in normal mode and allow the genset to charge the 48V battery pack.
For a severely depleted 48V battery pack, charge the battery pack with a battery charger.
48V battery pack (battery models). Battery run time has been depleted and needs to be recharged.
Faulty 48V power cables (hybrid models). Check positive 48V cable between the genset and the PDU. Check positive 48V cable
between 48V battery pack and PDU.
Faulty 48V battery pack ground circuit. Make sure 48V battery negative (–) cable terminals are clean and tight.
Measure resistance between battery negative (–) terminal and ground. Resistance must
be 0.5 ohm or less.
Faulty 48V battery pack (all models). Check interconnect cables between the batteries that form the battery pack.
(All models) - in addition, follow load test procedure and replace any failed battery/ies.
Probable Cause Remedy
Throttle actuator linkage. Check throttle linkage; adjust and repair.
Faulty throttle actuator. Test throttle actuator.
Faulty generator control unit. Substitute the generator control unit with a known good generator control unit.If throttle
actuator or GCU failed these checks/tests, install a known good part. If system now
works, re-install old components to verify fault returns.
Probable Cause Remedy
Fuel level in tank is below 2 qt (1.9 L). Fill tank with fuel.
Stuck float in fuel level switch. Check for stuck float in fuel level switch float tube. If damaged, replace fuel level switch.
Faulty fuel level switch. With the fuel level switch float in the full position, check continuity between fuel level
switch terminals. If continuity exists, fuel level switch is faulty; replace switch.
Shorted wiring harness.
Make sure wiring harness is free of nicks and cuts and not pinched to machine frame.
