Part 1 – Removing the Actuator from the Frame
To remove the acoustic actuator from the frame, it is necessary to remove the triggering
system, as described in the previous procedure.
Step Action
1.
While holding the acoustic actuator, remove the four screws CHC10-40-S.
2.
Remove the two screws CHC10-35-S.
The acoustic actuator can now be removed from the frame.
3.
End of procedure.
Part 2 – Opening the Actuator
Step Action
1.
Put the acoustic actuator horizontally.
2.
Using one Allen hexagonal key size 10, remove the screw on the opposite side of the
acoustic head. Hold the head during this operation (dropping hazard).
3.
Extract the acoustic head. Disconnect the flying connector of the transducer.
4.
Extract the other part (on releasing side). The electronic equipment and battery packs
are directly mounted on this end cap.
5.
Remove the three M3 screws of the battery PCB.
6.
Remove the three battery packs (3 packs of six R20 alkaline batteries), either by tilting
the unit to slide the battery out, or by pulling them. The batteries are soldered together to
overcome the effects of high impact loads during some launching operations.
7.
Fit new battery packs, individually tested, and respect the polarity.
8.
Install and secure the battery connection printed circuit board.
9.
End of procedure.
