The surface remote control unit (TT801 or TT301) must be initialized and dunking
transducer deployed in sea water prior to any release operations.
Once the decision of release operation has been given, be prepared to transmit the ARM
+ RELEASE or ARM + RELEASE & PINGER command sequence. For TT801 Surface
Remote Control unit, see section IV.1.
Step
Action
1.
Initialize the remote control unit. Refer to the appropriate user guide.
2.
Transmit the ARM code followed by either RELEASE or RELEASE & PINGER code.
As soon as the acoustic actuator has received the complete Releasing sequence code, it
returns the CAF acknowledgement signal to the surface: The display of Surface Remote
Control Unit should post up the slant range to the acoustic actuator.
The motor output shaft (9101551) equipped with its locking pin (9101550) rotates by 90°
after a 3 seconds delay and make free the release mechanism after about 3 or 4
additional seconds. When motor stops turning, a second acknowledgement pulse is
transmitted to the surface. Remote Control Deck upon detecting this second CAF will
post up the indication of successful completion of Release operation.
If the command is not received (Lack of detection of CAF pulses), resume the procedure
as from step 1. If no response is received, refer to section III.2.3.
The fork-shaped lever (9102893) freed, turns around its axis, which makes the lever
(9102981) free. The fork-shaped lever locks against the stop pieces (2903201,
2903202).
The lever (9102981) turns around its own axis (9102985) and locks on the supporting
stop piece (2903203).
The fork shaped hook and the lever are held in position on these support stop pieces by
means of spring blades thus preventing rebound from occurring for correct proceeding of
the releasing operation.
The hook (9103084) turns around its axis (9102984) to open, freeing the master link.
3.
End of procedure.
Actual releasing is assessed by the weak cable tension or by a surveillance ROV during
the deployment operation. The HD-55 can be retrieved to the surface.
