REMOVE AND REPLACE SEAT POST AND SADDLE
For transportation you can remove your bike
’s saddle post complete with saddle and replace it again
afterwards.
TIP - after you've managed to find the ideal position of your saddle (height) placed on the
seat post a sign (duct tape) to not have to make additional adjustments in the event of
removal of the seat stay.
If the seat post clamp is secured with quick release - release the quick-release (
see chapter “Quick
release use”) and remove the seat post off the frame. If the seat post is fixed with other fastening
systems follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Mounting the seat post is made in reverse order, specifying that the seat post portion to be inserted
into the frame should be lubricated (Vaseline). You must position the saddle in the direction of travel of
the bicycle.
CLEANING AND CARING FOR YOUR BIKE
Corrosion can damage components of your bike which can lead to an unsecure use and
even serious falls or material damage.
Corrosion is caused, amongst other things, by:
-
salt (e.g. due to salt spreading in winter)
-
salty air (e.g. in coastal or industrial areas)
-
perspiration
Please protect all the bike parts for long term use. Even so-called rust-free materials may be
affected by corrosion.
DO NOT use steam washers. The high pressure water jet can damage your bike.
