FITTING CHECK
Shake both road wheels vigorously at right angles to the direction of travel. The road wheels must not
move in the forks. There must be no audible creaking or rattling sounds.
RIMS CHECK
The wheels should not have dirt of any kind, especially from grease - if identified, remove immediately
Make visual check of rim wear level, if exceeded, should be replaced.
The wheels should not have any nicks or scratches. This check is done by putting your nail across the
braking surface. If you discover imperfections you need to consult your dealer for the best solution.
Lift the front wheel and rear wheel, turn and check out the distance from rim and shoes brakes (with
brake wheel rim) or between the rim and the fork (wheel with disc brake). Maximum deviation allowed
is 1 mm, if exceeded, wheel must be centered.
Above operations requires special knowledge and tools. If you do not have the necessary knowledge
and tools contact your dealer.
TYRES CHECK
1. Valve position check
If the valve chamber is not in radial position (meaning that is not oriented towards the
hub center) may break and cause sudden loss of tyre pressure which can lead to
loss of control of the bicycle and crash or property damage.
The valve must be brought immediately to the correct position, if you have no
knowledge, contact your dealer.
2. Air pressure check
Too low a tyre pressure leads to increased likelihood of punctures but mostly
dangerous handling. The tyre can come off the rim on bends and cause wandering of
the tyre on the rim. This can lead to hazardous riding situations, falling, accidents and
material damage. Inflate your tyres to the correct pressure.
Many tyre pressures are given in
„
psi
“
. Convert the pressure using the following
table.
