Step 5: Setting the seat and seat post
Setting the seat post height is done using the seat post clamp. The clamp can be with 13 mm
screw nut, or quick release.
The seat post is marked on the bottom with a limit up to which height can be raised from the
frame. Exceeding this limit can cause injury and will void the warranty. The seat position
must be horizontal / parallel with the ground. Positioning is done, loosening the 13 mm nut
screws or allen screws below the saddle on the fastening clamp. After the correct
positioning of the seat, tighten the screws with a high force so when pressing down on the
front of the seat, this does not alter its position.
b) For V-brake bikes
Observe all procedures / steps described for the disc-brake bikes (point a)), only for the front
wheel with V-brake, follow the instructions / steps below:
1. Disconnect the front wheel brake first. For this pull the V-brake arms from the V-brake
upper bracket brake.
2. Mount wheel on the fork. Attach / tighten with the quick-release of the front hub. If front
hub does not have quick release, clamping will be done with 15mm wrench. Put back the
front wheel brake. For this pull the V-brake arms.
3. Adjust the V-brake screw with a cross screwdriver and tighten to about 2 mm from the
wheel.
If your purchased bike that has been pre-mounted, just check its settings and fastenings and
follow the assembly and adjustment steps described at chapters: Fitting the front wheel, Fitting
and adjusting the handlebar and stem of the bicycle, Checking he head-sets, and Mounting
the pedals and Setting the seat and seat post.
