INTRODUCTION
The MPS Ultra is a hot swappable redundant DC power system with Ethernet
network control, advanced battery management, and load distribution options in
a factory pre-configured 2RU rack mount chassis. The MPS Ultra provides N+1
redundancy for power requirements up to 5.6kW. Four power chassis models are
preconfigured at the factory to provide fast, easy installation at a site. Every
model includes the Intelligent Control Module to provide full TCP/IP remote
monitoring and control of all system functions. The 2.8kW and 3.5kW systems
include dual 100 Amp battery disconnect breakers, a 150 Amp Low Voltage
Disconnect, and configurable fully managed load outputs rated at up to 25 Amps
each. Load outputs can be monitored and power cycled remotely over Ethernet.
Advanced battery management functions with the 2.8 and 3.5KW models include
battery state of charge, estimated run time remaining, and battery discharge
testing.

A typical configuration is shown in Figure 1, consisting of an ICT-2U4 power
chassis with Intelligent Control Module (ICM), four 700W Power Modules, Battery
Management Module (BMMD) with two battery input breakers (battery 1 lower,
battery 2 upper), and Load Distribution Module (LDM) (with output breakers 1 to
12). The configuration shown provides a 2.8kW N+1 hot-swappable redundant DC
power system with built in battery breakers, LVD contactor, advanced battery
management capability, and twelve channels of intelligent remotely controlled
power distribution. Every aspect of the system can be monitored and controlled
over an Ethernet network.
