Mounting Originals on the External Drum
Note: When mounting reflection copy originals a
reference white should also be mounted for
balancing the scanner analysis system.
Instructions for doing this are given under
Mounting a Reflection Copy Balance Point
later in this chapter.
To mount reflection copy:
1. Place the drum in the cradle:
For normal scanning the drum boss should be to
the right. For lateral reversal place the drum boss
to the left.
2. Cut a piece of clear, proprietary scanning
film to a size slightly larger than the original.
This is to be the overlay film.
3. Place the overlay film on the drum cradle
table then attach one edge to the drum
using a piece of scanning tape along the full
length of the film:
