Installing
a
5.25-inch
removable-media
drive
Your
server
also
comes
with
one
integrated
drive
electronics
(IDE)
CD-ROM
drive.
The
CD-ROM
drive
bay
(bay
B)
supports
a
5.25-inch,
half-high,
removable-media
drive.
Your
server
supports
one
IDE
device.
You
can
install
two
additional
5.25-inch,
half-high,
removable-media
drives
or
one
additional
5.25-inch,
full-high,
removable-media
drive
in
the
removable-media
drive
bays
(C
and
D).
A
three-drop
power
cable
and
a
one-drop
IDE
signal
cable
come
with
your
server.
Use
these
cables
to
connect
the
removable-media
drives.
If
you
plan
to
install
SCSI
devices
in
the
removable-media
drive
bays,
you
must
purchase
a
SCSI
cable
or
use
the
cable
that
comes
with
your
option.
Consult
your
IBM
marketing
representative
or
reseller
for
additional
information
about
the
number
and
types
of
cables
that
your
server
configuration
requires.
Before
you
install
a
SCSI
device,
such
as
a
tape
drive,
you
must
install
a
RAID
or
SCSI
adapter
in
your
server
and
connect
the
standard
hot-swap
drive
backplane
to
the
RAID
or
SCSI
adapter.
Then,
you
can
use
a
SCSI
cable
to
connect
the
SCSI
device
to
the
internal
SCSI
connector
(J15)
on
the
system
board.

drive

see
if
you
need
to
set
any
switches
or
