Operator Panel
Before performing the following procedure, read “Safety Notices” on page xi.
Operator Panel Removal
To remove the operator panel, do the following:
1. On a Model 6C4, open the front and rear rack doors and place the system into the
service position as described in “Placing the Model 6C4 into the Service Position”
on page 355.
On a Model 6E4, open the bezel door.
2. Shut down the system as described in “Stopping the System” on page 350.
3. Disconnect the power source from the system.
Note: This system may be equipped with a second power supply. Before
continuing with this procedure, ensure that the power source to the system
has been completely disconnected.
4. If necessary, on a Model 6E4, remove the bezel door as described in “Bezel Door
Removal” on page 368.
5. Remove the front bezel as described in “Front Bezel Removal (Model 6C4)” on
page 369 or “Front Bezel Removal (Model 6E4)” on page 370.
6. If you are servicing a Model 6E4, remove the top cap as described in “Top Cap
Removal (Model 6E4)” on page 358.
7. If you are servicing a Model 6C4, remove the service access cover as described in
“Service Access Cover Removal (Model 6C4)” on page 357.
8. Locate the operator panel, as shown in the following illustration.
9. Remove the two retaining screws, located along the bottom edge of the operator
panel.
10. Disconnect the power / signal cable from the back of the operator panel.
11. Remove the operator panel by grasping the edges of the panel and pulling it out of
its bay.
