9. Rotate the adapter retainer clip counterclockwise, as shown in the following
illustration.
10. The tab resting on the adapter retention bracket should spring to a vertical
position, coming to a rest next to the adapter retention latch.
11. Carefully grasp the PCI adapter by its top edge or upper corners, and remove it
from the system. Store the adapter in a safe place.
12. If you do not plan to install another adapter into the vacated slot, seal the
expansion slot using an expansion-slot cover. If you are installing another adapter,
go to “Adding or Replacing a Non-Hot-Pluggable PCI Adapter” on page 377.
13. If you have other options to install, refer to “Procedure List” on page 349. If you do
not have other options to install, continue on to the next step.
14. Replace the service access cover as described in “Service Access Cover
Replacement (Model 6C4)” on page 357 or “Service Access Cover Replacement
(Model 6E4)” on page 364.
15. On a Model 6C4, push the system drawer back into the operating position as
described in “Returning the Model 6C4 to the Operating Position” on page 356.
16. Connect the adapter cables.
17. Reconnect the power source to the system.
18. On a Model 6C4, route the cables through the cable-management arm.
19. Power on the system as described in “Starting the System” on page 350.
20. On a Model 6C4, close the rack doors.
On a Model 6E4, close the bezel door.
