Preparations
Tools: pallet truck, wrench, protective gloves
Materials: insulation tape, UPS5000-E battery, copper bar or cable
Documents required: documents delivered with UPS5000-E battery, power supply and
distribution system diagram, power supply and distribution device layout diagram,
UPS5000-E battery wiring diagram
Skill requirement: electrician's work permit

Procedure
Step 1
Move the new battery to the place where a faulty battery needs to be replaced.
Step 2
Switch off the circuit breaker of the battery in the switch box based on the power supply and
distribution system diagram.
Step 3
Remove cables or copper bars from the faulty battery using a wrench.
Step 4
Move the faulty battery out of the battery rack.
Step 5
Install the new battery and connect cables or copper bars based on the UPS5000-E battery
wiring diagram.
Step 6
Verify the battery connections. Ensure that the battery quantity and cable connections comply
with the design and the cables or copper bars are reliably installed.
Step 7
Switch on the circuit breaker of the battery in the switch box based on the power supply and
distribution system diagram.

Follow-up Procedure
Dispose of the removed UPS5000-E battery that is confirmed faulty.
5.1.5 Replacing a Monitoring rPDU
Prerequisites
A monitoring rack power distribution unit (rPDU) needs to be replaced.
A spare monitoring rPDU of the same model is available and functional.
