6 Emergency Operations

If a fire alarm is generated, determine whether to extinguish the fire or leave the area
immediately based on the actual situation and contact the personnel on duty or local fire
station.
Procedure
Step 1
Locate the fire alarm area based on the alarm information.
Step 2
Go to the area with necessary tools and communications devices to check the onsite situation.
Do not enter the fire alarm area without determining the severity and impact of the fire. If
both VESDA and fire alarms are generated, handle the situation by following instructions in
6.11 Emergency Operations for a Single Fire Alarm (Standard)
. You can enter the container
when a VESDA alarm is generated, but you cannot enter the container when the other fire
alarms are generated.
Step 3
Quickly check the alarm severity of the VESDA.
Step 4
Check whether there is smoke or something smoldering in the container.
Step 5
Cut off the power supply of the area with smoke or something smoldering, and spray carbon
dioxide fire extinguishing agent onto the area.
Step 6
After the alarm and risks are cleared, clean up and power on the container.

Analyze the cause of the fault, and work out and record the preventive measures.
