Virtual Media (optional)
With the ROM-Based Boot Drivers, an administrator can easily direct a remote
host server to boot and use standard media from anywhere on the network, thus
saving time and increasing efficiency by eliminating the need to visit a remote
server to insert and use a diskette. This feature enables administrators to carry out
any of the following functions remotely:
— Run User Diagnostics on remote host servers
— Apply ROMPaq upgrades to remote servers
— Deploy an operating system on remote servers from network drives
— Perform disaster recovery of failed operating systems
NOTE:
Virtual graphical console and virtual media are optional on the ProLiant DL580
Generation 2 server. These advanced features can be licensed with the optional iLO
Advanced Pack.
