Removing a Hot-Plug Fan
To remove a hot-plug fan:
1.
Extend the server from the rack. Refer to “Extending the Server from the Rack”
in this chapter.
2.
Open the rear access panel. Refer to “Opening and Removing the Access Panels”
in this chapter.
3.
Identify the malfunctioned fan by checking for an amber LED located at the top
of each fan.
4.
Remove the malfunctioning fan:
a.
Pull the tabs on the top of the fan

b.
Lift the fan out of its cage
(2)
