tunnel source [
<ip address>
|
<interface>
]
Use the
tunnel source
command to specify the IP address or name of a physical interface to use as the
source address for all packets transmitted on this interface. Use the
no
form of this command to clear the
tunnel source address.
Syntax Description
<ip address>
Specifies the IP address in dotted decimal notation to use as the source address
for all packets transmitted on this interface (for example: 192.168.73.101).
<interface>
Specifies the interface (in the format type
<slot/port>
) that contains the IP address
to use as the source address for all packets transmitted on this interface.
Default Values
By default, a tunnel source is not defined.
Functional Notes
Until a tunnel interface has a source IP address defined and the physical interface used as the source is
operational, the tunnel is not operational.
The tunnel source IP address will be the value put into the source field of the outer IP header after GRE
encapsulation of the original packet.
Usage Examples
The following example sets the tunnel source IP address to
192.168.73.101
:
ProCurve(config)#
interface tunnel 1
ProCurve(config-tunnel 1)#
tunnel source 192.168.73.101
The following example sets the tunnel source IP address to the address of the Ethernet interface
labeled 0/1:
ProCurve(config)#
interface tunnel 1
ProCurve(config-tunnel 1)#
tunnel source eth 0/1
