debug ip icmp [send | recv]
Use the
debug ip icmp
command to show all ICMP messages as they come into the router or are
originated by the router. If an optional keyword (
send
or
recv
) is not used, all results are displayed. Debug
messages are displayed (real-time) to the terminal (or Telnet) screen. Use the
no
form of this command to
disable the debug messages.
Syntax Description
send
Optional keyword which allows you to only display ICMP messages sent by the router.
recv
Optional keyword which allows you to only display ICMP messages received by the
router.
Default Values
By default, all debug messages in the SROS are disabled.
Usage Examples
The following example activates the
debug ip icmp
send and receive messages for the SROS:

Note
Turning on a large amount of debug information can adversely affect the performance of
your unit.
