OPTICS DIAGNOSTICS MODE TEST - ICE MAKER TROUBLESHOOTING (2010 DF MODELS) 

Optics Test.

On the user board deselect ice mode.
Now select an ice mode. Open Frz door
and observe LED on Receiver board
within first minute of power on. Are there 2
pulses followed by a 1 second delay?

No

The Ice Maker may be in ‘Harvest
Mode’ Press the Frz door switch. Is the
LED flashing once every second?

Press and hold down the
flap on the emitter panel
to allow the IR to travel
to the receiver and
observe LED on
Receiver board. Is the
LED on steady for 5
seconds?

2 LED

Pulses?

No

Yes

Yes

The optics are working
correctly. If the Ice
Maker is still not
producing ice proceed
to check the following

Note: It can take
approximately 40mins
to 2hrs for Ice to
harvest again after
reaching temperature

Check door alignment.
(Refer to Page 60).
The door must activate
the switch for the ice
maker to work.

Check
Control Panel
Display board
and its circuit.

Check main control
board and its circuit to
the Ice Maker

No

Open the Ice Maker flap.
If the blue rake is not at
‘Park’ (2 O’clock) position,
it is is in Harvest mode.
Harvest takes
approximately 5 minutes.
Wait until the rake
reaches the ‘Park’ position
(2 o’clock), switch the Ice
Maker off at the control
display board for 5
seconds and repeat
