Wheels
NOTE
The required tightening torque of the wheel
nuts / bolts is 510 Nm.
Check the wheel nuts for tight fit at regular
intervals!
¾
When working on the wheels make sure
that the device has been parked safely and
secured against rolling away and accidental
lowering (wheel chocks).
¾
Check the tyres every day for damage and air
pressure, because the lifetime of the wheels
depends on the air pressure.
¾
Have cuts or breaks in the tyres repaired as
quickly as possible, or change the tyres.
¾
Do not expose wheels to oil, grease, fuel,
chemicals as well as prolonged direct expo-
sure to sunlight.
¾
Drive carefully! Avoid driving over sharp
stones or edges.
¾
Only wheels and rims approved by HORSCH
may be used.
¾
Repair work on tyres must only be carried
out by experts and by using appropriate as-
sembly tools.
¾
Assembly work requires appropriate knowl-
edge and proper tools.
Air pressure of tyres
The required air pressure in the tyres de
-
pends on:
•
Wheel size
•
Load bearing capacity of the wheels
•
Travel speed
The performance of tyres is reduced by:
•
Overloading
•
air pressure in tyres too low
•
air pressure in tyres too high
NOTE
The air pressure of the tyres must be checked
regularly before driving.
The difference in tyre pressure between the
wheels on one axle must not exceed 0.1 bar.
During fast travelling or hot ambient tempera-
tures the air pressure may rise by up to 1 bar. Do
not reduce the air pressure since it will become
too low when cooling down!
Wheel change (workshop work)
WARNING
Danger to life caused by crushing and impact in
case of unprofessional or incorrect operation.
Instruct persons to leave the working and danger
zone when working on the machine!
NOTE
¾
Perform a wheel change only with profound
expert knowledge and by using proper as-
sembly tools.
¾
Work only on level ground with sufficient load
bearing capacity.
¾
Observe the accident prevention instructions
when changing the wheels.
¾
When assembling new tyres always use new
tubeless valves or hoses.
¾
Remove any corrosion found on the wheel
contact area of the rims before assembling a
new / different tyre.
¾
When travelling, traces of corrosion can cause
damage to the rims.
¾
Always screw valve caps with integrated seal
on the valves.
¾
Tighten the wheel screws with 510 Nm.
