7. Place the cell connectors correctly with respect to poles and tighten them with a torque of
20 Nm
8. Measure the total voltage and compare it with the system rated voltage, if it is lower
–
check for reverse polarity of the cell
9. Perform equalization charging (refer to the Operating Manual), measure the cell voltages
and check them according to Section 8.4.
10. Install the covers again.
11. Put the system back in place in the vehicle and perform a functional test (load test)
9.3
Replacing the charger
1. Ensure that the mains supply to the charger is disconnected and secure it against
being switched on again!
The work should be carried out only in the electrically de-energized condition!
2. Open the cover of the charger enclosure
3. Dismantle the "Plus" charger cable
4. Dismantle the "Minus" charger cable
5. If required, dismantle the protection against inadvertent start-up
6. Remove the screws of the charger fixture
7. Remove the charger
8. Put a new charger in place
9. Tighten the screws of the charger
10. Lay the cables and pay attention to the edge guard of the cables
11. Install the charger cable on the battery (use new M8x 26 screws. Torque 20Nm)
12. If required, install the protection against inadvertent start-up on the charger
13. Perform a load test and check the voltages
14. Insert the battery system in the vehicle and conduct a function test of the "Protection
against inadvertent start-up" if present
