Storage
WARNING!
When transporting the engine, ensure that the engine
switch (2) is in the OFF position (OFF, 0) and that the fuel
tank is properly closed so that fuel spillage is prevented.
Ensure that fuel is not spilled during transport. If it never-
theless occurs, ensure that the area is completely dry and
that petrol fumes are thoroughly ventilated.
BEFORE STORING THE MACHINE FOR AN
EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME:
• Clean the external parts of the engine.
• Drain the petrol:
1. Close the fuel tap (10) and remove and empty out
the setting cup (12).
2. Open the fuel tap (10).
3. Drain the petrol from the fuel tank
into an appropriate container.
4. Screw the setting cup back in.
5. Drain the petrol from the carburettor by loosening
and removing the drain bolt (11).
• Prior to storing for an extended period of time, remove
the oil.
• Screw out the spark plug and allow approx. 1 teaspoon
of oil to flow into the cylinder. Then pull on the starting
cord 2-3x. This will create an even protective oil film in
the area of the cylinder (fuel tank).
• Rotate the engine by pulling on the handle of the
starter cord and stop the piston in the top end position.
In this way, the exhaust and suction valve will remain
closed.
• Screw the spark plug back in.
• Place the pump into a safe, dry room.

• Is the spark plug cable connected?
• Is the spark plug generating a spark?
Spark plug function test
ATTENTION:
First ensure that there is no spilled petrol or other fla-

suitable protective gloves. When working without gloves
there is a risk of injury by electrical shock! Before remo-

1. Remove the spark plug.
2. Seat the spark plug into the connector (cap).
3. Hold the spark plug on the frame of the engine (e.g.
cylinder head) and pull on the starting cord.
4. If there is no sparking, replace the spark plug. If the
sparking is in order, reinstall the spark plug and conti-
nue starting the engine according to the manual.
5. If the engine does not start even after this, have the
repairs performed at a professional service centre.
If you are unable to remedy the malfunction, have the
repairs performed at a professional service centre.
